RunMyProcess released a new feature decicated to top-down process analysis and entreprise architecture driven approaches. They allow you to identify and organize efficiently all your processes, using business maps, macro
processes and value streams. Moreover, you will be able to record and share all business impact analysis you may conduct.
This cartography feature is freely available for all customers. For detailed information you may check our updated
user guide; but you will find below short descriptions of these functionalities.
Business maps

First of all, business maps allow you to identify and organize all your business activities or components (for example marketing, R&D or sales activities).
Then, on each business map, you can define a set of key properties and visualize them on the map. They can be used
for instance, to track the achievement of macro objectives such as budget or IT deployment.
Each activity can itself be defined as a more precise business map for a progressive view and model of your business components. Finally, you can relate one or several activities to story boards, such describing transverse macro processes.
Story boards

Story boards provide tooling for identifying macro processes spanning across your business components defined in a business map.
Using a top down approach, you can attach several process on each step of the story board, with corresponding actors and describe attention points and opportunities in order to emphasize the steps which can be improved.
A classical story board would be "order-to-cash", steps including "take order", "process order", "deliver to customer",
"bill customer". When zooming on a particular step, you use processes to model how "take order" is actually performed
by people in your organization and recorded into your systems.
